Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra said that education can better the world & called upon students to acquire knowledge uprightly.
“Nelson Mandela once said about education that it’s the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” CJI Misra said at the foundation stone laying ceremony of National Law University in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh (MP).
“National Law University was a necessity for Jabalpur to provide better legal education & ensuring justice for all. In today’s scenario, it has become imperative for law schools to take into the account changes taking place across the world as well as the contemporary issues of the Indian society.
Just the law is dynamic & changing rapidly. Law schools must adopt the emerging trends in the legal field. In a developing country like India there’s an urgent need of legal education to strengthen democracy & good governance, abide by law. Laying the foundation stone of Dharmashastra National Law University is a rekindling of legal education”, said CJI Dipak Misra.
He said that training in law structures a constitutional democratic quality in the country. Youngsters are the pillars of architecture who are going to take admission in this national law university. CJI assured that on the invitation of the university administration, he will definitely devote time for teaching at National Law University in Jabalpur.
Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan, MP High Court Chief Justice Hemant Gupta & Patna High Court Chief Justice Rajendra Menon were present on the occasion.

Union Law Minister Ravishankar Prasad said that Sanskardhani has also been emerged as ‘Nyayadhani’ to prepare architects of legal structure of India. He expressed gratitude towards CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for his initiative for establishing National Law University in Jabalpur.
He also lauded the governance of Chief Minister Chouhan to bring out Madhya Pradesh from status of sick state & achieved new heights of development.
Yesterday, CJI had also, inaugurated a new District and Sessions Court building constructed at a cost of ₹192 crore.
